Technique Classes:


Beginning knitting - learn the basics of knitting including the knit stitch, purl stitch and basic increasing and decreasing.


Advanced beginner - this is the class for you when you have the basics down and want to move on to something more challenging. You will learn alternate cast-on/bind-off techniques, alternate increases and decreases, and knitting in the round.


Intermediate techniques - you will learn about lace, Aran knitting, Fairisle, Entrelac and other advanced stitch patterns.  We can customize the class to learn multiple techniques or really focus on one technique and learn it in detail.


Begin with the end in mind - Cast-on and Bind-off variations.


Brioche - from basic to more advanced two-color stitches.


Short Rows- many options for working short rows...you can decide which best suits you and your project!


Getting to Gauge - how to make sure those beautiful hand knits will fit!


Pattern reading - line-by-line instruction and charts.  I'll give you hints and tips to keep track!


Finishing - to make your hand knit garment look more professional, you will learn about seams, blocking, and what to do with all those ends!


Project classes:


Charity knitting - choose from:  prayer shawls, operation Linus, knitted helmet liners for the troops and baby hats for the local hospitals.


Knitting for baby - booties, blankets, hats, etc.  One option is a 4-session class which will teach

                             how to knit a toddler sweater.  Great learning before trying the full-size version!


Felted bags(with or without a lining) - multi-step class so we will end with a finished product.


Fibertrends Hedgehogs - really cute and quick felted toy for people or pets!


Socks - 2-at-a-time, top down or toe up.


Elizabeth Zimmerman's Baby Surprise Jacket - you will be surprised when it's done because it doesn't look like your typical pattern as you're knitting.  There is very little finishing needed...when you're done knitting...surprise!...You have a jacket!!!


One Cable fingerless mitts - a great entry into learning cables and it's a quick project that can be done in a weekend!


Christmas Ornaments - quick-knit gifts or more intricate beaded heirlooms.


Reversible Cable scarf - looks the same on both sides.


Lining a knit baby blanket - selecting the fabric and customizing it to your knitted item.
